I made this for all the "newbies" out there. This will cover every step to remove everything from your evo. (except for the crystal and antenna)

Enjoy http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/icon10.gif

supplies:
1. screwdriver (1 phillips and 1 flat)
2. flush cutter or soldering iron
3. lug nut wrench

We will work from the front, to the back, then focus on the chassis and electronics.

1. remove the wheels and tires

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00021.jpg

2. remove the two top knuckle screws

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00041.jpg

3. Remove the tierod, tierod cover, and the two bottom arm knuckle screws

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00051_edited.jpg

Now it should look like this

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00061.jpg

4. Next, remove the screw, and use a flat head screwdriver to pop up the clip on the back of the knuckle. (refer to the back knuckle removal later in this tutorial) Now, remove the knuckle cover followed by the front axle and bearings. You can remove the dogbones but I am not as they are hard to get back into the axle.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00081.jpg

5. Remove the two screws holding the top suspension plate down. Note: I am using a scion that has been lifted, so if yours isn't you will need to remove the shocks and springs.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00091.jpg

6. Now remove the front body clip

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00101.jpg

7. Now remove the two screws for the front gearbox. This is what things should look like after this step.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00141.jpg

Now onto the back of the car

8. Remove the two top knuckle screws

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00161.jpg

9. Now remove the rear body clip holder.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00171.jpg

10. Remove the 2 screws holding the rear gearbox in place and remove the bearings on the rear diff. Now it should look like this.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00191.jpg

11. now unscrew the rear arms from the knuckles

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00201.jpg

12. Now remove the screw and pry the clip up to disassemble the knuckle.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00231.jpg

Remove the bearings

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00241.jpg

13. Now remove the motor gear protector followed by the idler gear.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT0026.jpg

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT0027.jpg

14. Next, unscrew the motor inputs and the 2 screws holding the motor in, and remove the motor, heatsink, and motor spacer.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00301.jpg

You can use a pinion remover and remove the pinion if you wish.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00331.jpg

15. Now remove the 5 screws (3 on top, 2 on bottom) holding the rear driveline case and remove it followed by the plastic white spacer.

Now for the chassis and electronics

16. Remove the 5 screws holding the top cover.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00391.jpg

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00411.jpg

17. remove the screw holding the electronics, and remove the 2 battery holder screws.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00421.jpg

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00431.jpg

18. Now take a flat head screwdriver and pry the battery holder off the chassis. Don't be afraid to use alittle force, it will just pop right off http://www.smileyvillage.com/smilies/happy0024.gif

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00441.jpg

19. Now you have a choice here: use a soldering iron and de-solder the battery wires or use some flush cutters and snip them off. I am going to use flush cutters for a fast removal.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00461.jpg

20. Finally, pull the electronics out and sperate the chassis from the battery holder. don't forget the power switch.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00471.jpg

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00481.jpg

That's it...Your done http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/icon10.gif

And you should have a pile of parts like this!!!

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/2Fast4u_ScionTC/PICT00501.jpg

Cheers!
